Last Friday the St. James Wildcat football team narrowly defeated the Donaldsonville Tigers 24-22 and the win not only gave the Wildcats their first District 9-3A win of the season, but the victory also snapped a two game losing streak.
The Lutcher Lady Bulldog Volleyball team suffered its first District 6-III loss of the season when the E.D. White Lady Cardinals registered a 19-25, 25-22, 25-21, 20-25, 15-9 win.
The battle for high school football bragging rights in St. James Parish finally belong to the Lutcher Bulldogs as the ‘Dogs traveled across the Mississippi River to beautiful downtown Vacherie and defeated their in-parish rival St. James Wildcats 41-19.
The Lutcher High Lady Bulldog Volleyball team completed play in its own tournament reaching the championship match against Dutchtown. Both teams took 1st place in Pool Play and advanced to the title match.
This Friday at 7:00 p.m. the St. James Wildcats and Lutcher Bulldogs will once again meet in beautiful downtown Vacherie to battle for a year’s worth of bragging rights and to get a leg up in District 9-3A play as the game is also the District opener for both teams.
