The SJP Retired Teachers Board met Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Lutcher Library. In attendance were Mike Avant, Eva Coleman, Raymond Dillon, Joellyn Hebert, Doris Jacobs, Sandra Smith and Craig Kennedy. Plans for upcoming meetings were discussed including the LRTA District 2 Fall Meeting.
Commodities will be distributed via drive through on a first come, first served basis to all registered applicants. Identification will be required to pick up commodities. To be eligible to receive commodities, an individual must be a resident of St. James Parish and meet the income guidelines below.
A vital component of the local community is Lutcher's police force.
The St. James Parish Council last week adopted the new voting districts, precincts and polling places, but not without opposition.
The Lutcher Board of Aldermen met Tuesday evening in regular session and after a brief discussion the Board voted unanimously to add a second day of fully automated garbage pick-up.
