Financial Assistance Available For Utility Bills
Low-income residents of St. James Parish may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay utility bills, through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The LIHEAP program is a federally funded program administered by St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, CAA made available to St. James Parish through the Louisiana Housing Corporation. Persons applying for assistance must provide the necessary documentation below to complete a LIHEAP application:
Emergency Financial Assistance Available
St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, Community Action Agency has received a $5,000.00 donation from Atmos Energy to assist Atmos Energy customers with gas bills, deposits, reconnection fees, natural gas appliance replacement/ repair and customer gas line repair or replacement. Residents must have a utility disconnection notice and/or experiencing financial hardship to be eligible for emergency assistance.
