On Friday, May 15, LSU honored more than 4,000 spring graduates with a virtual graduation celebration, and during the ceremony, 4,347 degrees were conferred. The virtual graduation watch party took place on the LSU Facebook page, and following the ceremony, all the graduates names were displayed on the scoreboards in Tiger Stadium.
High school sports across the state of Louisiana can officially begin team activities and workouts on June 8th.
LSU has announced the names of the students who have made the Dean’s List and the President’s Honor Roll for the spring 2020 semester.
St. James Parish 4-H had 68 livestock exhibitors participate in the 85th Annual LSU AgCenter State Livestock Show held February 8 to 15 at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, LA. These 4-H and FFA members exemplified their skills in and outside the show ring through animal preparation and studying. Several of our exhibiters participated in the Premier Exhibiter contest where their knowledge on their selected species is tested through skill-athons and interviews. St. James Parish 4-H was well represented in the Poultry, Beef, Goat, Sheep and Swine shows. Many ribbons were awarded to these exhibitors along with Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, Junior Showman and Senior Showman titles.
The St. James Parish Veterans Association along with V.F.W. Post 5852 want to give a giant thank you to Nathan Rojas and Carter Louque, who are working on their Eagle Scout badges along with their helpers for a beautiful face lift to our building and parking lot at 1398 Third Street, Lutcher.
