Former St. James standout athlete Tyler Steib is leaving the Bayou and headed north to attend Grambling State University to play both football and baseball for the Tigers.
The No. 5 seeded St. James Wildcat football team saw its dream of repeating as the Class 3A Champions come to an end when the No. 4 seeded Church Point Bears escaped with a 14-7 victory in a State Class 3A quarterfinal playoff contest.
The No. 5 seeded St. James Wildcat football team, as they often do, used a punishing ground attack to subdue the No. 12 Sterlington Panthers 28-7 in a Class 3A second-round playoff contest played at Wildcat Stadium in Vacherie.
Last Friday the 2020 Lutcher Bulldog football team’s season officially ended in heartbreak fashion as the Jennings Bulldogs edged out Lutcher 50-49.
Last Friday the No. 17 seeded Lutcher Bulldogs found themselves in Dry Prong, LA (due north of Alexandria and roughly 3- hours away) to face the No. 16 seeded Grant High School Cougars in the opening round of the Class 3A Playoffs, and not only did the Bulldogs return to Lutcher with a 54-13 victory, but one special Bulldog returned to town a new Bulldog football record holder.
