The St. James Parish Recreation Department saw major growth during 2023, according to the annual report given last week by Recreation Manager Tevis Smith.
Last week the Lutcher Bulldog baseball team hit the road and won four straight as they captured an 11-0 victory over the Patterson Lumberjacks and then participated in the Ponchatoula tournament where they beat Franklin High in extra innings 14-10, Hammond and Ponchatoula.
The Lutcher High Bulldog Boys & Girls Track & Field teams began the Outdoor season participating in the annual Griffin Relays held at Dutchtown High School.
The St. James Lady Wildcat Softball team dropped a narrow 8-7 loss to the Covenant Christian Lady Lions that went extra innings in a non-district contest.
The St. James Wildcat baseball team captured a 14-5 victory over the John Ehret Patriots in a nondistrict contest.
