The Lutcher Bulldog football team traveled to Thibodaux last Thursday for the season opener and the fans who made the trip sure got their money’s worth as the Bulldog offense put on a scoring clinic and beat the Class 5A Tigers 62-35. Lutcher’s offense, led by senior quarterback D’Wanye “Lunch” Winfield, was unstoppable as the ‘Dogs compiled more than 560-yards of total offense and scored on every possession except the last as they ran out the clock to seal the victory. When asked to say a few words on his team’s overall performance, head coach Dwain Jenkins says he was watching the play of the offensive line, a group that only returned one starter from a year ago, and he said for the offense to have success the line would have to answer the bell and play well.
