The St. James Wildcat football team suffered a 4926 loss to the E. D. White Cardinals in the regular season finale and with the win E. D. White took home the District 8-3A title. The good news is both teams advance to the playoffs and both earned a first round bye. St. James will compete in the Division III (non-select) playoffs and will play the winner of the No.13 seeded Loreauville vs. No. 20 seeded Vidalia game next Friday in Vacherie. E. D. White, who did not call a single pass play last Friday, is in Division II (select) and will play either No. 13 seeded Evangel Christian or No. 20 seeded Istrouma.
The Lutcher Bulldog football team did what it wanted to do and that was win their final game against A. J. Ellender and then turn their focus to the Class 4A playoffs. Lutcher beat Ellender 55-13 last Friday and on Sunday learned their seed and their spot on the playoff bracket.
The LSU Tiger Football team have proven themselves in a statement win over Alabama last weekend over SEC rival Alabama. LSU's 32-31 victory over the Crimson Tide may have been the best college football game of the year. The Tigers have reached the net level of being a championship contender.
The Lutcher Bulldogs beat the Morgan City Tigers 72-0 last Friday in Lutcher, and when games like these are played, one may wonder if much good can come out of such a lopsided victory.
