It is always a bit more exciting when the St. James Wildcats and the Lutcher Bulldogs meet on a sports playing field and last Tuesday was no different when the St. James Wildcat baseball team hosted the Bulldogs in Vacherie.
The Lutcher High Bulldog baseball team recently played a threegame series against the St. Charles Comets and the Comets came away victorious as they took two of the three.
The St. James Wildcat baseball is on a roll as the team captured its seventh victory in a row by defeating Assumption, Port Allen and White Castle in nondistrict contests.
The Lutcher High Bulldog Basketball team suffered a 61-48 loss to the South LaFourche Tarpons in the regular season finale for both teams. The loss left Lutcher with a 4-3 mark in the District 8-4A standings and a fourth-place finish. Vandebilt Catholic won the league title finishing with a perfect 7-0 record. The Bulldogs will not qualify for the state playoffs.
