A small crowd gathered outside the Fee-Fo- Lay Café in Wallace on Monday, March 22nd, to protest and voice opposition to the construction of a grain elevator proposed by the Port of South Louisiana Greenfield Louisiana Project.
St. James Parish Council is proposing to increase its water rates to cover the increases in the cost of generating water for its customers.
Things got very real Tuesday evening at the nearly five-hour St. James Parish School Board meeting as the Board learned that among other cost saving measures, 30 teaching positions and two Central Office staff members would be cut (reduction in force) and the District’s Science & Math Academy (SMA) would be closed and consolidated with the Career & Technology Center (CTC).
