Low-income residents of St. James Parish may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay their WATER bill, through the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP).

Members of VFW Post 5852, Lutcher, Louisiana, along with their family members and local Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts placed flags on local veterans’ graves on Thursday, May 26, 2022 as an act of respect and in observation of Memorial Day wherein we remember and honor the ultimate sacrifice of so many in our local area.
The St. James Parish Planning Commission met Monday evening in at the Courthouse in Convent and the Commission members, contrary to a request from the applicants to defer a vote to a later date, voted unanimously to deny applications to allow two large solar farms proposed to be constructed in the heart of Vacherie.
