It has been 24-years since the Louisiana High School Athletic Association voted to approve non-faculty assistant coaches in all sports and at the time high school principals were looking for a way to combat a coaching shortage.

A court case involving a custody exchange that went south and ended with a police office being bitten recently came to a close as a St. James Parish jury found a Paulina man guilty of Battery of a Police Officer and a Judge sentenced the man to five-years (with credit for time served) in prison.
