My name is Elizabeth Haddock and my mother, Sandra Beadle, passed away six-months ago, and as the family was going through her belongings, we mistakenly gave a box of books away for donation and in that box were my mom’s cookbooks and recipes.
I seldom cook Mondays through Thursdays because I’m at a baseball field, and I will never complain about either fact. Of course, my role as grandmother doesn’t require me to be sure homework is complete, kids are fed, and uniforms are clean for both school and the next game. I’m there to cheer and provide money for the concession stand. Speaking of concession stands, Larayo has the best hamburgers, Reserve wins the chili cookoff, and Longview’s slushies are a hit.
Spring and summer are colorful times. The vivid shades of these seasons — blue skies, green grass, flowers of all colors — are a reminder that the world around us is alive and growing.
