Recently, St. James Parish Hospital sued Thibodaux Regional Health System to prevent Thibodaux Regional from providing cardiology services to residents in St. James Parish.
The Lutcher High Bulldog Basketball team suffered a 61-48 loss to the South LaFourche Tarpons in the regular season finale for both teams. The loss left Lutcher with a 4-3 mark in the District 8-4A standings and a fourth-place finish. Vandebilt Catholic won the league title finishing with a perfect 7-0 record. The Bulldogs will not qualify for the state playoffs.
St. John Theatre will present a children’s drama workshop May 27 June 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the theater, 115 W. Fourth Street., in Reserve. Children having completed kindergarten through fifth grade may attend.
Low-income residents of St. James Parish may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay utility bills, through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The LIHEAP program is a federally funded program administered by St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, CAA made available to St. James Parish through the Louisiana Housing Corporation. Applicants applying for assistance must provide the necessary documentation below to complete a LIHEAP application:
