Appellate Court Rules Parish Failed To Follow Land Use Ordinance In Granting Land Use Application

A five judge panel of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal recently issued a split (3-2) decision that ruled St. James Parish (Planning Commission & Parish Council) did not properly followed its Land Use ordinance when it approved Koch Methanol’s Land Use permit application to install and connect an ethane pipeline to an existing pipeline owned by a third party and located in an area designated as wetlands.

The 2025 Lutcher High Girls Powerlifting Team. The girls were recognized by the St. James Parish School Board for winning their 18th (19th if you include the Covid year) consecutive State Championship trophy.
The St. James Parish School Board honored the 2025 Lutcher High Boys Powerlifting Team for winning the 2025 State Championship trophy, which was the first since 2021.

The St.James Parish School Board took time during Tuesday evening’s monthly Board meeting to highlight the accomplishments of some of the top students of the District as well as the Lutcher High boys and girls powerlifting teams, who competed and won State Championships in 2025. This was the Lady Bulldogs’ 18th consecutive championship and the Boys first State Title since 2021.
