Wildcats Cut Down And Chop Up Lumberjacks
St. James High’s students and the Wildcat football team had plenty to celebrate last Friday as not only was it was Homecoming, but the team registered a 55-13 victory over the Patterson Lumberjacks.

The South Terrebonne Gators were no match for the visiting Lutcher Bulldogs as the ‘Dogs improved to 5-1 (2-0 in District play) with a 42-7 victory. The Bulldog offense scored six times (three on the ground and three through the air), and after the Gators scored on their very first possession, the Bulldog defense stiffened and held them out of the end zone for the remainder of the game.
The St. James Wildcat football team and fans took a 2.5-hour road trip to Southwest Louisiana and the ‘Cats returned home with their fifth win in a row as they defeated the Lake Charles Collegiate Prep (LCCP) Blazers 46-27.
On September 16, 2022 the River Parish communities along with the surrounding communities came together to support little Anniston Cancienne’s journey. Anniston was born with a very rare medical condition called MMIHS Megacystis Microcolon Intestinal Hypoperistalsis Syndrome. Anniston is the son of Tricia and Darren Cancienne and twin to brother, Greyson of Paulina. Because of Anniston's compromised immune system, he made approximately 17 trips and stays at Children's Hospital in New Orleans in a 22 month span. Because Louisiana has no facilities that can perform this type of rare intestinal transplant, they began their intense research. Travelling to Omaha Medical Center for testing and evaluation and then to New York. After visiting both facilities, New York is where they felt they had the best worldwide surgeons to help with Anniston's medical condition. He was immediately put on the top of the transplant list.
The St. James Wildcat football team captured its third straight victory with a convincing 33-7 victory over the Assumption High Mustangs in a non-district contest played last Friday at Wildcat Stadium in Vacherie.
