MARTIN

Gene Louis Martin, Sr. a native of Grandpoint, LA and as resident of Gramercy, LA passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the age of 70. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Belinda Hymel Martin. Loving father of Gene, Jr. (Summer), Jay (Heather), Crystal (Steven), Brent, Brittney (Cory) and special family member Maci Louque. Proud Grandfather of Lainey, Lexie, Saylor, Jackson, Connor, Layla C., Ashlyn (TJ), Austin, Havyn, Jax, Gabe, Finley, Beck, Brogan, and Brinley. Greatgrandfather of Liam, Emersyn, Carter, and Baby Matherne. He is also survived by his mother Bridget Martin and mother in law Janet Hymel and brother of Glenda, Lynn (Karen), Grant (Carol), Jenny (Randy), and Joey (Ann).

GUILLOT

GUILLOT

Mr. Michael R. Guillot Sr. a native of Thibodaux and resident of Vacherie, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022. Michael was 72 years old. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Georgette Becnel Guillot. He was the father of Michael Guillot, Jr and Joseph Guillot and his wife Mindy Becnel Guillot. His pride was his grandkids, Jaice Michael Guillot, Avery Elizabeth Guillot and Preston Joseph Guillot. Michael was one in 10 children of the late Joseph and Mabel Naquin Guillot of Thibodaux. When Michael was 13 months old, he tragically drowned in the bathtub in Thibodaux. Through the quick response from the City Police Department, the Fire Department’s Emergency Unit and the staff at St. Joseph Hospital, Michael was revived with the use of an iron lung device. Those events culminated with Michael living a life of volunteer service.

BRADY

BRADY

John Charles Brady, Sr., a native of LaPlace, LA and resident of Reserve, LA, passed away on August 12, 2022 at the age of 81, after the onset of dementia. He is the son of the late Peter Joseph Brady and Josephine Hymel Brady. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Joan Scioneaux Brady, his children, John, Jr. “Johnny” (Liz); Joey (Lacie), Jude (Dana), Jane (Darren) Clement, Jeremy “Jerry” (Amie) and Jack, his grandchildren, Kayla, Kellie, Benjamin, Andrew, Kristine, Haylee, Keri, Hannah, Kate, Molly and Lily and his greatgrandchildren, Grayson, Luca, Henry, Wyatt and Rynlee. John is the brother of Peter Brady, Jr. (Mary Ann), the late Milton Brady (Sylvia), Donald “Donoo” Brady, James Brady (Julie), Mike Brady (Sharon), the late Mary Ann Brady, Catherine Brady Remondet (Garland), Robert “Bobby” Brady, William “Billy” Brady and a host of nieces and nephews. John enjoyed his days fishing and shrimping in Dulac, family picnics at his parents’ house and Sunday lunches with his children, grandchildren and recently great-grandchildren. Retired from Shell Oil Refinery, he was a member and officer in the OCAW, Local 4-750 union. Visitation was held at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, Louisiana, on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial began at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed at St. Peter Cemetery. POCHE

Ronald Thomas “Punot” Poche, a native of Paulina and a lifelong resident of Lutcher, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2022. He was 87. Ronald served in the U.S. Army, then worked at Kaiser Aluminum for 36 years. Before his health declined he enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching sports and listening to swamp pop music. He was a fantastic dancer and a great carpenter.

CANTILLO

Anthony Cantillo, Jr. passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the age of 91. He was raised in Gramercy, LA and was a resident of Lutcher, LA for the past 65 years. Anthony was a proud Army Veteran, serving as paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division - 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, was retired from Shell Chemical after 32 years and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
