St. James Parish President Peter Dufresne told the Parish Council last Wednesday that his administration will now look into the feasibility of building a brand new Department of Human Resources (DHR) building rather than redesigning and renovating the old Health Unit in Lutcher, which was originally supposed to house the DHR.
When the St. James Public School District returned from the Christmas and New Year’s holiday in early January and promptly announced that all K-12 students would remain in the “Hybrid/A-B” model of learning until at least March 16th, that news did not go over very well with many parents.
Students graduating in 2021 from St. James or Lutcher High School in St. James Parish are eligible to apply for a scholarship of $3,500 per year for up to four years. Please note that all applicants must be majoring in Engineering or Metallurgy.
