Last Wednesday was a momentous day for the Louisiana Republican Party and Republicans in St. James Parish as the St. James Parish Republican Party Executive Committee (RPEC) was officially formed and the organization held its inaugural meeting and elected its first slate of officers.
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen met in regular session on Tuesday and the two main orders of business were the Board authorizing the issuance of two separate bond measures, one to help with Hurricane Ida recovery and the other to help make needed sewer and water system improvements.
The 2022-23 school year starts today and last Thursday the St. James Parish School Board met in special session in order to have one final Board meeting before the school bells ring.
