Nucor Steel Louisiana is sponsoring an exclusive new program for high school students in St. James Parish. The NuLevel Academy is a leadership development, college prep, and career exploration program designed to educate students on possibilities that await them after high school. Through a threeyear mentorship with Nucor Steel Louisiana teammates by their side, students will have the opportunity to learn about higher education, community involvement, workplace readiness, and development in personal growth. “At Nucor, we are committed to building leaders, taking care of our team, and taking care of our community. Through NuLevel Academy we get to bring all of those together right here for our students in St. James Parish. This program is one example of what it means to ‘Be a part of something bigger,’” said Mike Hall, Controller for Nucor Steel Louisiana.

The Lutcher Bulldog football team was just a bit too much for the homestanding South Lafourche Fighting Tarpons as the ‘Dogs filleted the fish 56-0 to improve to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in District 7-4A play. Lutcher dominated from the very start and at every phase of the game; and with three minutes remaining in the first half and Lutcher up 42-0, a running clock was implemented to speed up the game.
