Steven Bourgeois Announces His Candidacy For Mayor, Town Of Gramercy

I would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for mayor of the town of Gramercy and ask for your consideration in the upcoming election. I cannot say enough of how much I love our town and want to see it continue to grow and thrive. I want to see new businesses on Main Street, along with continued success of the ones currently open. I believe to do this we need to not only encourage, but also incentivize locally owned businesses. Our success can come from within, after all, we are St. James Strong and our community has proven this time and again. I firmly believe that you cannot put a price on the local entrepreneur or the ability to make a living in your own hometown. Clean streets and properly maintained drainage are also key to success. I believe that working together these things can be achieved. Good communication with the Board of Alderman and our residents can go a long way towards achieving our goals. I humbly ask for your support on November 8th.

September Is PAD Awareness Month

September Is PAD Awareness Month

September is Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Awareness Month. PAD is a chronic circulatory condition, which if left untreated can result in unnecessary limb amputations. PAD affects nearly 20 million Americans and an estimated 200,000 of them – disproportionately from minority communities– suffer avoidable amputations every year. St. James Parish Hospital’s Wound Care Team is supporting PAD Awareness efforts by sharing tips from the American Heart Association and reinforcing the importance of ongoing foot checks and early wound care for patients with PAD.
