Highway Baptist Church proudly announces its upcoming Black History Program and Worship Celebration honoring the rich legacy, faith, and contributions of African Americans in the church, community, and higher education.
Low-income residents of St. James Parish may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay utility bills, through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The LIHEAP program is a federally funded program administered by St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, CAA made available to St. James Parish through the Louisiana Housing Corporation. Applicants applying for assistance must provide the necessary documentation below to complete a LIHEAP application:
Twenty-third Judicial District Attorney Ricky Babin’s office reports on May 19, 2025, Clydedric Joseph (30-years old, 2190 Levy Gaudet St. Lutcher) pled guilty to Attempted Manslaughter, and on January 20, 2026, Joseph was sentenced to 20-years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections (with credit for time served).
