As the Buddy Whitney Street (aka School Side Street) culvert replacement/ enhancement project comes to an end, many residents and businesses in the Town of Lutcher will now see a noticable improvement in the area’s drainage.

The calendar tells us spring is almost here even though we’ve had quite a bit of warm weather lately. A hallmark of Louisiana (early) spring has always been the stunning red swaths of the new buds and seeds of red maple / swamp maple / Acer rubrum. While those are visible all around the River Parishes, I’ve been surprised by another red tree – deciduous holly / possumhaw / Ilex decidua recently. (Those scientific names come in handy when we have so many common names for trees!)
Saturday, March 4th St. John Theatre will host the 3rd artist in its 2023 concert series. Hot on the heels of IMAGE and Already Gone, REO / Survivor will wow the audience with their renditions of the music from legendary bands REO Speedwagon and Survivor.
