1957 Class Of Magnolia High Adopts A Magnolia Tree

The 1957 graduating class of Magnolia High adopted the planting of a Magnolia Tree on the campus of St. James High School located at 22187 Highway 20, Vacherie, LA The following students of the 1957 graduating class who participated were: Marvis Nicholas Brown, Eula Stevens Jeffery, Marlene Brown Oubre, Louise Mitchell Taylor, Florida Marie Mayho Rodrigue, Catherine Phillip Francis, Jenetta Scioneaux Pearley, Evelena Stewart Sam, Ernestine Dennis Joseph, Emelda Pedescleaux and Paul Nelson.

Magnolia High School Class Of 1967 Celebrated It’s 55th Year Class Reunion

Magnolia High School Class of 1967 celebrated it's 55th year class reunion, the event was held at the New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church located at 29169 Highway 644 Vacherie, La. 70090. Rev. Nathaniel R. Rapp Sr. Pastor An inspirational program was held in the church sanctuary, program was as followed: Mistress of service-Sylvia Joseph Williams Opening prayer-Sylvia Joseph Williams Welcome/Greeting-Jinx Coleman Broussard Remarks by acting class reunion president-Larry J. Alexander Sr. Tribute to the class with a solo-Jackie Davis Inspirational songs led by New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church Organist Kevin Edwards and the choir praise ministry, Pastor Rapp delivered an inspiring message to the class.

Financial Assistance Available To St. James Parish Residents

St. James Parish Government, Department of Human Resources, Community Action Agency through the Huey & Angelina Wilson Grant “Caring Hands” Program has funds available to assist parish residents who are experiencing a documented financial hardship with emergency assistance such as rental/mortgage assistance, utility/security deposits including connection fees, utility payments, food, medical assistive devices such as: wheelchair ramps and handrails, prescriptive medication, travel vouchers to drug rehab and also assist individuals affected by a house fire with emergency clothing and lodging.
