Across the River

IT’S HOT, YA’LL: Oh my gosh! I’ve been having some work done at my house and I watch as the men have endured the heat. They worked from 7:30 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon. They wear a cap, a towel over the back of their head for shade and must change their shirts at least four times a day. They drink gallons of water all day. I know there are many young and women who work outside in this weather. I don’t know how they do it. There are some who work in large warehouses and assembly areas where there are shade and fans, but hot air can be just as oppressive. Please pray for those who work in these conditions.

Hearts In Touch

I’ve enjoyed visiting the mountains, museums, Disney, D.C., places of historic importance and spots deemed valuable because branches of my family tree are planted there, but it’s the Gulf that gets me. Something about the sound of the surf as waves lap up the worries I’ve written in the sand soothes my soul.
