Last week the Lutcher Bulldog baseball team matched up with the Berwick Panthers for a home and home series and the ‘Dogs won the first game played in Lutcher and then suffered their first District loss of the season as the Panthers bounced back and took game two played on their home field.
The Lutcher Lady Bulldog Softball team remained unbeaten in District 9-3A play after sweeping parish rival St. James 14-1. The victory clinched the District 9-3A title with a perfect 7-0 record.
The St. James Lady Wildcat Softball team captured its 12th win of the season after defeating the South Lafourche Lady Tarpons 13-2 in a non-district contest played last week.
The Lutcher Bulldog baseball team started District 9-3A play on a winning note by defeating Parish rival St. James in a pair of league contests.
The District 9-3A All-District boys basketball team was recently announced and the Lutcher Bulldogs and the St. James Wildcats each had team members named to the elite squad.
