Ronald Thomas “Punot” Poche, a native of Paulina and a lifelong resident of Lutcher, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2022. He was 87. Ronald served in the U.S. Army, then worked at Kaiser Aluminum for 36 years. Before his health declined he enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching sports and listening to swamp pop music. He was a fantastic dancer and a great carpenter.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Carolyn Tassin Poche, sonin- law, Kenneth Roussel (Tara), and his grandchildren Olivia, Colton and Rhett Roussel. He is also survived by his brothers Sherwood (Linda) Poche and Lanny (late Janel) Poche, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Noemie Kinler Poche, his beloved daughter, Shannon Poche Roussel, his step-son, Keith Lawrence, his brothers Earl, Marvin (Eunice), Arlen (Charlene), and his sisters Merlene (Herman) Schexnayder and Gayle (Vince) Troxclair. The family would like to thank the staff at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society, in memory of his daughter, Shannon Poche Roussel. Relatives and friends were invited to attend the visitation and funeral mass at St. Joseph Church in Paulina on Monday, August 8, 2022. Visitation was at the church from 9:00-11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00. Interment was at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
