MARTIN

Milton J. Martin, Sr. was born on September 25, 1928 and passed away on August 30, 2018 at the age of 89.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elsie Millet Martin; sons, Milton, Jr. (Donna), Kenny (Cindy), and Danny (Sherry); daughters, Mary Ann Marse (Nolan) and Wendy Duhe (William “Bill”); 11 grandchildren, Jeremy, Lindsey, Mallori, Brittnay, Danielle, Kasi, Alex, Nicole, Nicolas, Dylan, and Kati; and 12 great-grandchildren and 2 soon to be born.

He is also survived by his brothers, Bruce, Willy, Sr., and Jacob, Jr., and his sisters, Florence St. Pierre and Theresa McCann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Martin, Sr. and Leona Roussel Martin; brother, Gordon Martin; and sister, Marie Martin Millet.

Milton was an U.S. Army Veteran, having proudly served in the Korean War 6th Infantry Division and a member of the VFW Post 5852. He was also a member of the Paulina/Grand Point Fire Department. Milton retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 32 years and was a member of the Steel Workers’ Organization of Active Retirees (SOAR).

He was a kind, loving soul devoted to his Catholic faith, family, friends, and farming. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and carpentry, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his wife and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Garden of Angels Prayer Garden, located at 19821 Tammy Lane, Gramercy, LA (SPC school grounds) would be appreciated.

A visitation was held in Milton’s honor on Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, LA. Mass of Christian Burial took place at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph. Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
