JoAnn “Nana” Landry Bland

JoAnn “Nana” Landry Bland entered eternal rest on May 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and her devoted husband of 60 years, Larry Bland. Together JoAnn and Larry built a life in Gramercy, Louisiana where they raised their four beloved children.

She was a devoted Catholic. JoAnn lived a life rooted in faith, family, friends, and service. She gave herself selflessly to others and was a source of comfort, encouragement, and joy to everyone she encountered. “Nana” was known for her warm smile and kind spirit, she remained resilient, and always had a positive outlook on life, regardless of her health battles of 44 years. Her legacy of love, character, strength, and unwavering support to others will live on in all who were lucky enough to know her. In her own words, she considered herself “blessed to have the best family and friends anyone could ask for”.

JoAnn is survived by her husband and lifelong dance partner, Larry “Papa” Bland; her children, Todd (Angel), Robbie (Cathy), Jason (Chasity), and Christina (Brad) Delaneuville; her cherished grandchildren, Mason (Darcie), Emily (Anthony), Ethan (Cameron), Gabriel (fiancé’ Maura), Alec, Allie, Hunter, Ashlyn, Wren, Dylan, Bree; and step grandchildren Emma, Hunter, Alex who she loved as her own. She was blessed to be Great-Nana of Talan, Adalyn, Benson, Zane, Gianna, Malcolm, Anna, and Cooper.

She is also survived by her siblings: Gerry (Late Emile) Hotard, Kat (Elwin) Bocz, Marsha (Llyod) LeBlanc, Morris “Bubby” Landry (Mary Ann) and so many more close family members, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her loving parents, Morris and Marie Landry and in-laws Homer and Gladys Bland.

JoAnn built many meaningful relationships over the years with her doctors and their staff. Our family is deeply grateful to all who cared for and supported her throughout the years. We would like to extend a special thank you to HOPE Healthcare and Hospice, especially Tiffany, Ginger, Jennifer, and Dr. Arceneaux, for the compassionate care they have provided and for giving us nine precious months of quality time with our mother.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church building fund to help with roof repairs to the rectory building.
