CANTILLO

Anthony Cantillo, Jr. passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the age of 91. He was raised in Gramercy, LA and was a resident of Lutcher, LA for the past 65 years. Anthony was a proud Army Veteran, serving as paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division - 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, was retired from Shell Chemical after 32 years and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Beloved husband of Barbara Laurent Cantillo for 65 years. Loving father of Gina Martin (Billy), Peggy Ortego (Randy), Colleen Cantillo (Randy Gautreau), Deidre Detillier (Andy), Stacey Brignac (Keith), Chantal Herron (Eddie) and the late Deanna Roussel (Hennis, Sr.). Son of the late Lucy Mancuso Cantillo and Anthony Cantillo, Sr. Brother of Mary Ann Brady (P.J.), Rocky Cantillo (Tina) and the late James Cantillo (the late Avis), Lebo Cantillo (the late Lucille) and Vick Cantillo (Janet). He was the son-in-law of the late Layton and Stella Babin and Raleigh and Velma Laurent. He is the brother-in-law of Anna Mae Jeansonne (the late Wilbert) and the late Charles Laurent, Sr. (Mary Ann). Also survived by 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Hennis Roussel, Jr. and his nephew, Michael Cantillo.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to his caregiver for the past three years, Danisha Davis, the staff and doctors of St. James Parish Hospital and the nurses and staff of Clarity Hospice for their loving care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Rose Lynn Funeral Home, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2130 Rectory St., Paulina at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.
