On Tuesday, January 26th, at approximately 11:09 p.m., the Gramercy Police Department and St. James Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call regarding an individual who was found lying on East Railroad Ave. in Gramercy.
The St. James Parish School Board held their annual retreat last Thursday at LSR in Gramercy and during the meeting the Board was presented details about a way to possibly lessen the financial impact of the closure of the Shell Convent Refinery.
The Louisiana Sheriffs’ Scholarship Program will award scholarships providing assistance to worthy Louisiana students in furthering their education and training with resources made available through the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program.
Students graduating in 2021 from St. James or Lutcher High School in St. James Parish are eligible to apply for a scholarship of $3,500 per year for up to four years. Please note that all applicants must be majoring in Engineering or Metallurgy.
The special education teachers at Paulina Elementary School, with help from the special education department at the district level, are excited to provide home learning bags to their students.
