The St. James Wildcat football team captured its first regular season win in a big way as they crushed the archrival West St. John Rams 61-0 in a noncontest played in Edgard.
Last Friday’s matchup between the Lutcher Bulldogs and the St. Charles Catholic Comets ended in dramatic fashion as the Comets booted a 25-yard field goal with just :03 left in the game to edge out the Bulldogs 1614.
An AARP safe driving course is being offered by St. James Parish Elderly Services in partnership with St. James Sheriff’s Office. The class is being held at District 4 Convent Community Center, 5781 Highway 44 Convent, LA 70723 on September 20, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The cost is $20.00 for AARP members and $25.00 for nonmembers; this cost covers all materials needed for the course. Participants must be 55 years of age or older. Please contact Elderly Services at 225--562 -2362 to register. Participants are asked to arrive fifteen minutes early for registration.
