SJPRTA Meeting
The St. James Parish Retired Teachers will meet Thursday, March 13 at the PR Building. Registration will begin at 10:30. The meeting will follow at 11:00.

In the Across the River column published on February 20th, it publicized that a conference, titled “Petrochemical Pollution, the Unborn, and Maternal Health” is scheduled to be held on April 4th & 5th at St. Peter Chanel school in Paulina.
Vacherie Man Gets 20-years For Drug And Gun Charges
Twenty-third Judicial District Attorney Ricky Babin’s office reports that on November 13, 2024, Maurice Collins (age 40 of 1110 Collins St. Vacherie) pled guilty to three counts of Distribution, Manufacture, or Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Illegal Use of a Weapon while in Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
School District Audit Makes Public Alleged Theft Of Funds
The recent publication of the St. James Parish School District’s financial audit made public that a Paulina woman is alleged to have misappropriated more than $8,000 in funds allocated for the Lutcher High dance and flag teams.
