Zelma J. Vicknair

Zelma J. Vicknair, age 94, passed away on June 12, 2018. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia V. Carter (Eugene) son, Phillip M. Vicknair, Sr. (Jo Ann), and sister, Mary Lee Impastato. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Vicknair; parents, Julius and Pauline Troxler Jacob. (She was raised by Ernest and Margaret Landry); brothers, Julius “Jake” Jacob, Jr., and Joseph “Lee” Jacob. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Scott David Carter, Amanda Martinez (Sean), Phillip M. Vicknair, Jr. (Shannon), Jake Robert Vicknair (Kaini), and Trichelle Rauch (Darrel) as well as greatgrandchildren: Emily and Evan Martinez, Collin Vicknair, Breyla and Logan D’Antoni, Remi Vicknair, Westin and Jaidyn Ferguson, Ty Rauch and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation in her honor was on Monday, June 18, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with interment in the church cemetery.

Andrew "Burt" Cashio

Andrew "Burt" Cashio was a lifelong resident of St. John Parish. He was called to his Heavenly Home on June 16, 2018. He was born in Lions in June of 1939, but was a resident of Garyville. Burt married the love of his life, his wife, Joyce Stein, in September of 1962. He will be truly missed by his family. Burt was preceded in death by his dad and mom, Andrew "Bebe" Cashio and Lillie Mae Millet Cashio, as well as his sister June Madere (Burton). Burt is survived by a very large, loving family including his wife of 55 years, Joyce Stein Cashio, his children: Terrilyn Sanford (Chuck), Jeffrey Cashio (Gwen), and Brigitte Price; Grandchildren: Erika Cashio, Andrew Sanford, Lauren Price Kennard, Jessica Sanford and Marissa Price; Greatgrandchildren: Gianna Grace Kennard and Mia Angelle Chilton. His brothers and sisters: David (Cheryl), Curtis (Nancy) Kathleen Weber (Phillip, deceased), Bruce (Jeanette), Harold (Chesley), Lillie Mae (Kirt), Michael "Petey" (Theresa).

Gayle P. Borne

Gayle P. Borne, known as “BaBorne” to many and as Paw Paw to a special few, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the age of 79. He was a resident of Gramercy and a native of Paulina. He is the beloved husband of Marie Guillot Borne for 56 years, his children Debie Zeringue (Jonathan) and Tessa Kinler. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Corey Zeringue, Chelsey Jenkins, Skyler Hoppe, and Presley Roussel as well as 2 great-grandchildren; Kynli and Kylah Jenkins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dora Borne; brother, Edward Borne, Jr. and sister, Shirlie Troxclair and 1 granddaughter, Katie Kinler. He retired from Kaiser Alumina after 33 years of employment, and was a member of the St. James Boat Club. A memorial visitation in his honor will be on Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Catholic Memorial Mass.

Penny Boudreaux Ancale

Penny Boudreaux Ancale, age 72, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2018. She is a native and resident of LaPlace, LA. She is survived by her daughter, Angele Ancale and companion Alfred Adams; sister, Dolly Ocmond (Wilbert), nephew, Brandon Ocmond (Christie); niece, Raina Ocmond, 1 great niece and 2 great nephews as well as a sister-in-law Melissa A. VanHorn (Tim). She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Ancale, Jr.; parents Sylvain and Evna Duhe Boudreaux; mother-in-law, Clara Vicknair Ancale and father-in-law, Harry F. Ancale, Sr. The family would like to give a special thanks to Ashton Manor and Lakeside Hospice for their loving care and compassion. A visitation in her honor will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. James Anthony

James Anthony, was born on February 6, 1944 and passed away on May 30, 2018. He is a native of Portland, Oregon and a resident of LaPlace. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Millicent “Mitzi” Jantzen Anthony; his children, Gretchen Benoit (Randy), Leigh McMath (Jason), and Victor Wall (Kasey). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jade, Amber, Austin, Angelle, Derrick, Caleb, Joshua, McRae, Owen, Parker, Camille, and Eli as well as great-grandchildren: Jada, Alyah, Levi, Ella, and Lily. James attended Southeastern and UNO Universities. He served in the United States Army as a SGT. in Company D of the 20th Special Forces Group. He was a life time salesman of industrial and medical supplies. A visitation in his honor was on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at ROSE LYNN FUNERAL SERVICES, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation resumed at the funeral home on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a religious service.

Suzanne Kay Boudreaux

Suzanne Kay Boudreaux, age 57, passed away on May 29, 2018. She is a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Gramercy. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Boudreaux, mother, Cynthia Nichols and father, Walter Nichols. She also leaves behind her sisters: Ronaele Brouillette and husband Tim, Reine Champton (Robbley St. Pierre), Godmother Kaye King as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her former husband, Henry Boudreaux, and nephew, Neal Brouillette. Lawrence Paul Delhommer

Lawrence Paul Delhommer, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in Destrehan, Louisiana. Lawrence was born February 13, 1935 to Louis and Edna (Garcia) Delhommer in Garyville, LA. He graduated from Leon Godchaux High School in Reserve, LA in 1954. Lawrence served as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He met his first wife Faye and together they had a beautiful daughter named Linda. He unfortunately lost them both in a tragic accident in 1967. Shortly thereafter, he met and married his current wife, Mildred “Mickey” (Jordan) and together they adopted their two girls, Cristi and Paula. Lawrence worked at Avondale Shipyards as a Boilermaker for 32 years before becoming ill from asbestos exposure. Lawrence loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was actively involved in art, woodworking, gardening, and had volunteered his time at Live Oak Elementary School and Live Oak Manor Volunteer Fire Department.

Betty L. Folse

Betty L. Folse, passed away at her home on May 28, 2018 at the age of 83. She is a native of Columbus, MS and a resident of Vacherie, LA. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Folse; daughters, Tammie Martin Bodin and Teresa Martin Neel (Matt) as well as her sister, Bobbie Richardson (Doug) and nieces Susan McGeehee and Melissa Richardson, grandchildren: Natalie Bodin, Cameron and Olivia Neel, Isabella Bodin, and great-grandchild Myla Bodin. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Ray Martin. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all of them. A memorial visitation will be on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Rose Lynn Funeral Home, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Vacherie, LA.

Vernia Mae Stewart Sheppard entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the age of 77. Daughter of the late Rev. Morris Stewart, Sr. and the late Celestine Jasmin Stewart. Wife of the late Ellau Sheppard for 50 years; Mother of the late Donovan Sheppard. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her loving daughter, Debbie Marie Sheppard Bean, a devoted daughter in law, Emily C. Sheppard, her dedicated grandchildren, Destiny, Delaina, Hezekiah, Jernell and Hershell Bean, Dominique Sheppard, Walter Conley, Lucille Conley Minor (Joshua); two great-grandchildren, Joshua Minor Jr. and Chloe M. Minor, God-daughter, Demetria Stewart. She is also survived by six sisters, Maudry S. Brown, Clementine S. Young, Evelina S. Sam, Amelia S. Donald (Earl), Betty Stewart (James) Merita Williams (Raymond), one brother, Enoch Stewart (Darrell Ann). Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
